Hear how a young couple cancelled their wedding plans and donated the money to Syrian refugees. In our last episode, we spoke with students in Toronto who have been mobilizing to help sponsor and resettle 75 Syrian families across the city. But there’s one story we saved for this week: the story of a student who used love to leverage her fundraising goals. Samantha Jackson recently tied the knot with Farzin Yousefian. But their wedding day was nothing like what they had planned. After months of preparations they ditched everything and opted for a small ceremony at city hall. Their wedding reception was turned into a fundraiser for Syrian refugees asking for donations instead of gifts. Samantha came to the Campus studio to chat with us.
