Queen's University Biology professor, Daniel Lefebvre, accepts the QUAA Excellence in Teaching Award. The Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching, initiated in 1975, is Queen's first campus-wide teaching honour. Established at the urging of students, the $5,000 award recognized Queen's teachers who "show outstanding knowledge, teaching ability, and accessibility to students".

Queen’s campus hummed with activity May 27-29 when alumni celebrating a milestone anniversary (from 1941 to 2006) returned for Spring Reunion. Several classes participated in a Re-convocation ceremony in Grant Hall, presided over by Queen’s Principal Daniel Woolf and Chancellor David Dodge. All alumni taking part donned convocation gowns and hoods to relive their graduation from Queen’s. Alumni celebrating a 50th anniversary received commemorative medals at the ceremony.

The Queens Centre is the new home of student life and club space, and athletics facilities.
