Good short news podcast, ignoring technical hiccups
Generally a good news bite for the morning, relatively short and to the point, and nice to have available daily. I enjoy having it available for short drives, morning coffee, and other moments like that. However, it is frustrating to me that i listen podcasts made by amateur audio content producers that are more professionally produced than this podcast. Editing is sloppy (the majority of episodes start with noise that is clearly the end soundbite of a previous segment), and i’ve listened to many episodes where the audio just skipped from the middle of one story to the middle of a different story, and a few where there were obvious echoes and sound glitches. This isn’t rocket science. It’s audio, based on established technologies that we’ve now had for a long time. It is embarrassing that our national news agency cannot consistently put out a clean product for this. I don’t hear these kinds of mistakes on the Current... so i’m left to think that this other podcast is an afterthought. Either make something good or don’t.

The content is good, but the new ads make it feel very commercial and take away from the journalistic quality. BBC and NPR manage to keep their podcast ad free, I’ll be moving over to them.
