Hello! Welcome to Check Your Thread, a podcast about sewing more sustainably. Each episode we enjoy nerding out about sewing, whilst picking up ideas and useful tips for how to reduce our impact on the environment. My aim is always to approach topics with a sense of curiosity and fun, and hope to leave our listeners feeling inspired by the end of each episode.

Examples of topics that we cover include sourcing second hand textiles, zero waste sewing patterns, mending, upcycling, scrap-busting and alternative and surprising sources for fabric. If there are any topics you’d like CYT to cover, anyone you’d like me to get on the podcast to chat to or you’d just like to say hi, please email me at zoe@checkyourthread.com or message me via Instagram @checkyourthread.

Nirdill ,

A Thoughtful, Fun and Intelligent Podcast about sewing more sustainably!

I never miss an episode. I have learned so much about the critical need to see and create garments with sustainability firmly in mind. AND the podcast is joyous, fun and encouraging! Zoe, our host sets this tone with intention. All the content is great but I am just so grateful and inspired by the recent series on stash management and sewing with scraps. Such great information put together with concise terrific suggestions. And that says it. Zoe calls her advice suggestions, because she fervently supports sewists choosing their own journey. Thank you for all the time and love poured into this podcast.

LuikaB ,

Such a delight

I am a newbie sewist and I adore this podcast. Zoe is such a ray of sunshine! It motivates me to create and be thoughtful and is the best companion while sewing! Also, every pattern Zoe has recommended has been excellent, which is especially helpful as a beginner.

narulynn ,

Invaluable!

I have basically put all other podcasts in my queue on hold while I catch up on all the older episodes of this one! Zoe has created an invaluable resource that I didn’t even know I needed, not only for my creative endeavors, but to help me rethink my consumption and sustainability practices in both sewing and daily life. She is exploring sustainability in every aspect of the term, including how to sustainably maintain a daily creative practice. Every episode has a wealth of actionable ideas and is full of enthusiasm and encouragement!
