This is a podcast about music, songwriting, guitars and creativity, hosted by English musician Mary Spender.
Having formed a loyal audience over on YouTube, it only felt natural to turn the ‘Tuesday Talks’ video series into a podcast. Mary will not only dissect each of her interviews with the likes of Santana, KT Tunstall and James Valentine of Maroon 5, but also talk about how she writes songs plus keep you informed about music industry news and issues.

Although no new episodes have came since I think May, this is my favorite podcast. So good just listening to Mary talk about music
Maurice Bender!!
She is hands down the best female electric guitarist I have stumbled across and I could listen to her talk about anything at all for hours!! Her style of music is just so different and unique which makes her stand out in today’s industry and she doesn’t conform or change to fit into this mold to be like every other singer songwriter and that’s what I love most about her!! Can’t wait to see where this YouTube/ podcast internet sensation goes next in her career!! I just know I am now and from this day forward a huge Mary Spender fan and hope to one day have the privilege to hear her perform live!!!!
Good but sometimes monotonous
I’ve been a big fan for a while and though the content is great much of the time, a lot of discussion devolves into talking about life as a content creator. My favorite episodes are when Mary interviews professional musicians or when discussing fan questions. Whenever she talks with other content creator-musicians though, a large part of the conversation is about making videos, work-life balance, etc. It makes sense since these are common talking points between her and the interviewee, but at this point I’ve heard almost identical conversations about YT and “the algorithm” with different people several times. As the average viewer, I’ve begun to skip ahead whenever the discussion takes this turn. It’s monotonous and uninteresting. I don’t mean this in a negative way and I hope this is used as constructive criticism. Everything else about the podcast is great and I’m very grateful to be able to listen. Keep up the good work but just remember that the audience are content consumers, not creators!
