Born in 1820 in a young and evolving America, Fanny lost her sight due to a tragic accident when she was just a baby. Despite her blindness and other hardships, including the death of her child and surviving a cholera epidemic, Fanny's unwavering faith and exceptional memory allowed her to memorize vast portions of the Bible and write over 8,000 hymns.
