As the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end," and so it goes with Citizens of Azeroth. Rafe gives an update explaining why the show is coming to an end, at least for now. We thank you for listening, for your support, and for your friendship, but for now our time together in Azeroth has come to an end. It's been awhile and we're going to talk about why we've been gone. Listen to us as we talk about a sense of apathy towards Warcraft, possible plans for streaming, the new 9.1 patch: Chains of Domination, and why we think Blizzard has made some serious missteps in the game we know and love, as laid out in the recent Carbot video: This is the World of Warcraft. Torghast has gone through quite a few changes since our last episode and we spend a fair amount of time talking about it. We also focus on a couple other things we aren't so thrilled about in Shadowlands: the mission table and Threads of Fate. We're still enjoying Shadowlands, however, and we hope you are too!Find Rafe on Twitter and check out his other podcast Have Not Seen This.Find Chris on Twitter.Follow the show on social media on Twitter and Facebook!Subscribe to get all our future...

The Shadowlands have officially opened and we are deep in it. This week we talk about our initial reactions to World of Warcraft's latest expansion. Rafe talks about the drive in preparing for mythic raiding while Chris shares the more casual mentality as we deal with all that Shadowlands has to offer: the leveling through the new zones, the new systems including picking our Covenants, the new mission table, the Maw, and Torghast. Find Rafe on Twitter and check out his other podcast Have Not...

Shadowlands is live so we break from our usual format to talk just about the latest World of Warcraft expansion. How did we feel about the pre-patch events? What can we expect heading into the new content? What will there be to do as our time in the Shadowlands begins? How are you picking a Covenant? We discuss all of these and more and welcome your questions and comments about the beginning of a new era of World of Warcraft for future episodes!Find Rafe on Twitter and check out his other...

As we mentioned last week, there isn't a lot to do in Pre-Patch except level alts. So why do we have so many problems with how leveling is currently handled? Not that we'll have to worry about it for long, as Shadowlands has gotten its new release date and will be here soon (and not Blizzard Soon(TM)). We also get silly about lockboxes and discuss anniversary events, Metzen's new board game endeavor, and Blizzard going into overdrive for the rest of the year.Find Rafe on Twitter and check out...

The pre-patch has dropped and your character has now been reduced to level 50. Now what? Although the pre-patch brings a revised leveling experience and some new abilities, it also highlights a problem with Warcraft right now - a lack of things to do. We talk about the latest developments in retail, classic, and beta World of Warcraft, as well as discussing the ramifications of a key phrase released in the Shadowlands survival-guide and whether Blizzard could let an expansion end with us...

We finally got a release date for Pre-Patch but with it came the news that the actual Shadowlands release is being pushed back. Rafe and Chris talk about that as well as Mike Morheim's new game company, Diablo changes, support classes, and multi-boxing. NOTE: Due to recording issues, the audio quality on this episode is not up to our usual expectations. We apologize for this and if we had time to re-record the episode, we would have.Find Rafe on Twitter and check out his other podcast Have...

This week we talk about motivations behind changing our mains for the new expansion. Shadowlands pre-patch can't be far off, evidenced by the huge Developer Update we got, but for now we have the last two of the Afterlives shorts to chat about. We also talk about computer specs for Warcraft, what lies in the future for Classic, and how you too can get an evil demon cat companion in the game!Find Rafe on Twitter and check out his other podcast Have Not Seen This.Find Chris on Twitter.Follow...

We have a Shadowlands Relase Date! Hope you've put in for that time off the week before Halloween, because that's when the Shadowlands open. We also talk about the "Afterlives" animations we've seen so far, Garrosh getting unceremoniously censored, Thrall's role in the new Horde, what we're planning on having as a main in the new expansion, and more!Find Rafe on Twitter and check out his other podcast Have Not Seen This.Find Chris on Twitter.Follow the show on social media on Twitter and...

Rafe is exploring Shadowlands Beta, but it's hard to follow the narrative when you get "Epic In-Game Event!" instead of the actual event. Chris is digging further into Hearthstone and Diablo 3 events. It's our week off, but we wanted to take the opportunity for a little shameless self-promotion. Recently, Rafe's other podcast, Have Not Seen This, looked at the 2016 film adaptation Warcraft. You can hear a snippet of the conversation here as Rafe and guest Luke Kunka talk about how buff Gul'dan is and how none of the Mak'gora challenges seem to be played fair. While we haven't recorded in a few weeks due to... well, everything in the world, the Warcraft news cycle hasn't stopped. This week Rafe and Chris try to make their way through a flood of news, from Blizzard's increased action towards botters and hackers to recent developments of an unsavory nature with a high profile guild. Curseforge has been sold, WoW Classic had an esports event, you can look forward to jewelry, flowers, vines, and burn marks in your character's future appearance, and...

This week we revisit the Echoes of Nyalotha system after it has gone live in the game, mourn the loss of this year's BlizzCon, consider what an animated World of Warcraft series might be like, talk about MMORPGs on consoles, and discuss why role-playing (RP) is an appealing element of the game that comes from the player, not the game company.*Notes: this episode was recorded on May 31st but delayed due to last week's events. Hey all - this should have been our week with a new episode and we did sit down and record one on Sunday, but it just feels wrong to release a new episode right now with everything going on in the world. It is definitely a time that we need to stop and listen, and putting an episode out feels antithetical to that. So, we're going to sit on the new episode for a few days. We encourage everyone who can to get involved, but more importantly, be safe and be kind. We'll be back soon and we'll see...

Chris and Rafe are back with a look at the changes coming to the bulk of the class changes coming in Shadowlands and we're asking a lot of questions as we look at them: have casters not gotten as much attention or just not gotten balanced yet? What will Blizzard have to do to make mages more appealing? What should Rafe play as a Vulpera? The biggest discovery over the course of this conversation, however, is how often the description of the class is now that it's "fun". More Shadowlands...

Hey all - no new episode this week, but I (Rafe) did want to give an update as to what's going on with the show.
