This show has the best hot takes! From what’s the best Houston date to the best brunches, this show is welcomes opinions and I love it! Also they have a great frugal dining challenge you have to try (I believe it was Houston meals for under $15 books).

Love getting to learn new things and stay in the know about what’s going on in Houston at-large. I feel so connected to the community, and I feel like the CCH team are my friends! They’re so fun to listen to. Can’t imagine my mornings without this pod.

This show is thoughtful, informed, funny, warm and inviting. I feel like someone just invited me over to a house party of smart, kind people, and I get to listen in to conversations about what Houston is doing right and what we can do better. Plus, fun stuff too, like all the creative ways that...Read full review »

I put on this podcast every day on my drives around the city and I just adore how it encompasses the spirt and diversity of the city in a real and meaningful way!

Love love your show but the cackling laughter from Lisa is super super annoying that I end up not wanting to listen to the shows Please tone the cackling laughter

A great resource for a city as large as Houston. It covers and explains a lot of local issues I wouldn’t have known about or understood without this podcast, and with enough time to discuss the issue without the monotony of talk radio, for example. Also it covers more than just murders, weather,...Read full review »

Really great minus the inane joy at killing things, otherwise I am grateful for the local progressive point of views re body autonomy.

I enjoy this podcast and all the fun and interesting facts and things to do. I don’t even mind them talking politics, that’s also part of Houston. Sadly, the politics are too opinionated and doesn’t represent Houston as a whole. Stick to the facts and let people make up their own opinion please :)

Today’s podcast regarding Post-Roe Texas gives succinct, practical abortion information for Texans to use today. Thank you Lisa Gray.

These folks clearly love Houston, and their enthusiasm is infectious. They highlight the things that are wonderful, awful, strange, and dull about the city with clarity. The show is appointment radio for anyone who likes this place.

I love this short, daily podcast. It’s such a great little snippet of life and culture reported by people who obviously love their jobs. I don’t live in Houston, but it’s Texas-centric enough that I really enjoy it and find it relevant. Please start one in Austin!

Former Houston Chronicle columnist Lisa Gray has gifted ‘H-town’ with a pod series regularly offering informative, insightful, and entertaining interviews & conversations — that actually want to listen to. Among what seems a ‘flood’ (scary word in Houston) of the same news on other media and...Read full review »

It’s hard to make a good podcast. It takes more than recording people talking. This podcast doesn’t know if it’s a news cast or a running op-ed. I consider myself a purple voter, and I find this podcast too left to feel confident in the content.

So glad Lisa is back to podcasting. Nobody “does” Houston better. I missed the start of this one and am playing catch up. I will be current soon.

Before this podcast came out, I didn’t know much about Houston, but thanks to Lisa Gray and the rest of the team, that’s changing. Love the variety of topics covered — the eccentricities of Houston, politics, business, culture, etc. I especially loved the episode about “Babes in Betoland.” A...Read full review »

I understand journalism today faces some serious hurdles and I appreciate that financial backing often now comes inside the rat trap of an agenda. But it’s disheartening to see something focused on our great city that has such clear bias. I like the parts where the show spotlights cool people and...Read full review »

Host Lisa Gray loves loves loves Houston, knows how crazy it is, and is joyfully sharing her immense knowledge of the city. This is the podcast that will make you feel more connected to Houston—to know it better, to care more, and to be current on the news

I’m really happy to have a daily local podcast like this for my commute. It is much more intimate and quirky than listening to NPR, which of course is still worthwhile. Lisa Gray does a good job and sets a good time for the show. The only complaint I have is minor production issues, with levels...Read full review »

Really enjoying the tone of the pod and the local color. I’d like a little more on local politics—just because there’s so little good info out there on that topic.

It’s got the vibes of a podcast that’s still finding its feet a little bit but I like what I’ve been hearing so far. Nice hearing stories about home.

Lisa Gray and team do an excellent job bringing the news about what it’s like to actually be a Houstonian. The focus is generally on one or two topics per episode with a scan of the headlines to wrap it up. This has quickly become a “must listen” ‘cast for me.

Lisa Gray and the CityCast team bring something interesting every episode. There’s always something to learn, laugh about and/or start a controversial Facebook argument over. Whereas other city dailies (among them covering Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Chicago, and Chicago) talk about local politics or relevant supra-national phenomena, the Houston Citycast talks about cemeteries which cannot be accessed and municipalities which refuse to incorporate. What could be better than listening to Allyn West and Lisa Gray look up at buildings and down at the pot holes, reminding us to think and to laugh about this crazy city?
