I look forward to listening to this show every time I commute. Haven’t listened to an episode yet that wasn’t entertaining and informative. Thank you for taking away the monotony of some of the duller moments in life and resparking my interest in climbing.

I am not a climber. I am aware Alex Honold was famous, but other than that not especially interested in climbing. But this podcast features great storytelling. It’s thoughtful, and often funny. It reminds me of This American Life or something. It’s just enjoyable to be wrapped up in these...Read full review »

I was expecting great climbing knowledge and insight, but I’ve been very impressed by the storytelling, the editing and the insightful questions and conversations. Even journalistic or editorial would be a good way to describe it. I can’t get enough. Can we get another season soon, please? What...Read full review »

Didn't expect this podcast to be this good. Didn't expect Alex Honnold to be such a good story teller and host, didn't expect him to be surrounded by so many great and inspiring people, didn't expect such good production values. 5/5Read full review »

Literally the best podcast I can’t think of anything that could make it better.

Not a climber but after listening to these heartfelt stories and watching Free Solo you have opened up a new door. Grateful!

Love the episode with Anna Pfaff! Alex asks great questions & Anna’s story is super inspiring.“Our best is always changing”.

Dope Lake what a great story. Good description of the times and people’s mind set in the late ‘70’s. I learned of the story many years ago when my husband told me about it as he was flying a helicopter for the NPS and was involved with the clean up and salvage operations Very well done, thanx

What an incredible story and great journalism on the Dope Lake series! Congrats!

Great podcast 5/5. However, there ist way too much too repetitive advertising.

I thoroughly enjoy Honnold’s infectious and inclusive enthusiasm for climbing. My favorite episodes are about the history of climbing, like the battle over sport climbing in the US or the unique ethos of British trad. It has great production/editing, too. I think any climber (or any curious...Read full review »

I dare you to curl. You guys are just not that good at making jokes about another sport. 10\2022 can you please arrange your podcasts so the most recent show first?

I love the touch down in climbing history as well as reports from the Olympics. Well produced with good clear sound and good dialogue. Rated by trad/alpine climber who’s been active since 1984. Keep it coming Thomas

As good a listen as there is. Alex and Will talking personally and intelligently about risks. Should be mandatory listening before a journalist can use word “thrill-seeker” about climbing or paragliding,

As a non-climber but fan of climbers in general and Alex in particular, I really enjoy this podcast. I thought season 3 was absolutely fascinating in the deep dive about risk. The range of guests is pretty fantastic. I give it 4 stars because the sound levels on various guests can be all over the...Read full review »

Love Alexs lighthearted tone and the different guests but dear god the musical transition quips are awful, the harsh piano bit after an ad stabs me in the heart and ears. Other than that love this stuff, as a new climber I’ve learned a lot

Yes, the production is pretty slick, and it does have some adds, but I must say that the content is pretty great, and at least it is not behind a paywall. I listen to every episode.

Alex and Fitz bring a fresh and interesting perspective on climbing—tying in history, psychology, science and personal experiences. The latest season on risk has been especially enlightening. I’d love to hear a perspective about a near death survivor and their opinion on risk…. (I haven’t...Read full review »

Unfortunately the podcast is pretty mediocre. Too much dubbed over narration. I couldn’t even make it through 15 minutes. It definitely has potential as this sport has a lot of good topics and folks to talk about. The format just needs to be done alittle more professionally.

Love Alex and the overall content of the podcast but honestly just stop with the editing. The tape click noise and unnecessary cuts to the music is just so annoying and does not add anything.
Gobblediguuj via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/20/22
Freaking LOVE this podcast! Music selection and production is a pleasure to listen to. Ads get a bit in the way, but hey, it’s got to pay for itself. The back and forth chat between Alex and Fitz is cool. And then centre stage are all the cool climbing gold stories from the past and present. So...Read full review »

No by now I will not buy a whoop or athletic greens and honestly getting hammered on commercials every 5 minutes of the podcast does ruin the quality and the fun of it….I understand the need to monetize it but the number of commercials is extreme in relation to the duration

I enjoy hearing Alex share his experiences and he seems to be a fan of the people he is interviewing. Fitz is a good counter balance to Alex and adds color. Great show! Think the dramatic NPResque format does not fit with Alex’s interview style and distracts from the story telling and interviews. All of the narration and background info interruptions are more distracting than helpful and makes episodes feel very piecey and disjointed. Came here for an alex...Read full review »

I am a non-climber due to other pursuits being stronger than my curiosity of climbing but climbing has always catched my eue from looking a man in a magazine up in the air due to their own force of nature to climb the wall. Season 1 was so entertaining and educational! Season 2 has been the opposite. Bring back legendary tales and important historical events in the world of climbing! I thought that was supposed to be what the show was about: stories told around the campfire kind of thing.

Meh
Guests are good but Alex seems pretty shallow.

Finally, a podcast that is beyond talking about the rules of climbing or the host’s vast network of climbing buddies. “Ya know?” I love the broad range of topics and diverse guests on Climbing Gold. Keep it up 👏🏼

Impossible to find a consistent sound level for the radio. Every person on the show is mixed at a vastly different level. One person is so quiet you can’t hear them, the next is essentially yelling.

I have never listened to a podcast in my life. I was stuck at work on a Saturday and just needed something different when this popped up on my Spotify.
