I am a language teacher myself and from my experience the best way to learn is through pleasant emotions and a love for the language. Every time I hear the CBG music theme as well as the voices of Mark, Andrea, Julia, Thomas and Kerstin, I am filled with enthusiasm and desire to keep learning.

I’ve listened to heaps and this one is the best by far! I struggle with the different cases and verb placement in the German language not to mention word order... I checked this out years ago, but was very discouraged because the native speaker speaks so quickly. And never seems to have a mode where he will enunciate clearly and slow the speech down. So that learners can understand what the heck the words are. Native speed is fine if you understand what...Read full review »

Really glad I’ve found this - it’s the perfect complement to other forms of learning. I find duolingo/Babbel really useful for vocab but can never remember the grammar rules... enter coffee break German! It’s much easier when you can actually hear someone explain it :) thanks guys!

Super! Toll! This podcast is excellent. The German is slow and clear. The explanations and dissection of each sentence are very helpful. I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of the episodes.

I used to listen to this podcast about 3 years ago. Although English was used a lot in the first few lessons, I found it easy to follow and learn. Now, wanting to start over, I find most of the conversation is in German that’s too fast for me. I think I’ll try to find an app.
