The ads in this were horrible, insanely interruptive & repetitive!!!! Which spoiled the experience every episode.

Well done through and through. The host does a great job of going through piece and piece. He really dives through everything. Just wish we had a better ending. Not because he didn’t do a good job telling but because there isn’t an happy ending on this one.

I live in Utah and I heard about every development on the news. I thought I knew enough that this would bore me. But I binged 6 episodes in one day. Captivating and lots of juicy details!

Well-researched. Thoughtfully presented. A really well done podcast.

And when it comes to🤮he’s going to be going somewhere where nobody can find him I think whatever he did to Susan’s party he should get 1 billion times worse if anybody want to start this week plus those poor boys on top of it. He doesn’t deserve heaven at least I hope because it’s not for anybody...Read full review »

This is well researched and well told, especially having the benefit of actual voice recordings. It’s a heartbreaking story the narrator does a good job of telling on the victims’ behalf.

I usually don’t like listening to a story I’m familiar with from tv or another podcast. But the way this is produced and the way this story is told provides a deeper insight into what is behind and killer and the dynamics of psychological manipulation and abuse. My heart goes out to Susan and her...Read full review »

Way way way too many details. I appreciate the thoroughness but it does NOT have to go into so many unnecessary background details.

Steve and Josh’s taped diaries are SO creepy...and Steve’s self written songs gave me full body chills. This podcast is very thorough. I am impressed by all the hard work of the police team in charge of Susan’s disappearance.

I'm usually not very good at auditory skills, but this is riveting! This is a must hear!

Loved this podcast. Top two for me. Serial and Cold are the first two I recommend for people who enjoy murder podcast! Fantastic job! If only she was found for all of us who invested time in this story!

Wow
I got to episode 5 and I simply can’t keep listening. It’s beyond devastating and infuriating to hear how he got away with killing her and the children. He should be in jail. I just don’t want to hear anymore of his stupid voice and the stupid way he got away with murdering Susan. The fact that...Read full review »

If you can get past the horrible narration (overly dramatic, random peppy ads with no introduction) then you might enjoy this true crime podcast.

This was so well put together...cannot give this enough stars. All the recordings and unreleased evidence really sets the podcast apart from others that have reported/covered the Powell case. Dave and his team did a TREMENDOUS job piecing everything together. Would LOVE to see this made into a...Read full review »

I have just binge-listened to this podcast and sad that it has come to an end. I had NO IDEA that those recordings and journals were kept for so many years. The story is interesting and tragic. It’s also really complex but the podcast makes it easy to follow. Listening to some of the audio of other ppl is painful at times. I’m in tears as I write this - I was familiar with this story before I began listening to Cold and the tension leading up until Episode 14 is horrifying because I knew what was ultimately going to happen. On a separate note, the 911 dispatcher needs a serious wake up call if he’s still...Read full review »

I’d give “Cold” 10 stars if I could! Dave did a fantastic job researching & narrating! This has been one of the best podcast series I’ve listened to. Good podcast, good content, but the sound issue is so distracting it makes me want to stop listening—the ads are much louder than the main content, and the host’s voice is lower than the interview voices.
amd5123 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/12/19
I had a disturbing sense that this case has become a cash cow for some of the people involved. I didn’t like one bit the statement or promise made by narrator after talking about second murder. It sounded hallow to my ears.
ElleAhl via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/12/19
I agree with another reviewer who had the same reaction. The material was excellent, if repetitious and dragged out sometimes. But the reporter/narrator cheapens this incredible story with his sighs, dramatic voice, and inserting himself into the story. It undermines the good reporting with cheap...Read full review »

The podcast is amazing, it really is. So detailed, thorough, and interesting. Just interesting enough that you’re listening more intently than normal, so when that woman’s voice comes in one million times louder than the regular voice you tend to scream, or throw your earbuds, or both! I thought I knew a lot about this case from listening to other podcasts but I had only scratched the surface. I felt very captivated by all of the minor details that David laid out, even though I already knew about the case. I think that the last episode what really great and i liked that David shared his personal theories as-well as the emotional call to action.

The case is fascinating. The work done on the podcast is impressive. The delivery is terrible. Our narrator’s voice inflictions and dramatic air undermine his credulity.
