Well done with one main problem
I read the book so I’m familiar with the story and it’s certainly a compelling one. The pace and narration are excellent and the interweaving of journal entries and voice clips is effective. I’ll continue to listen. There is a very heavy pro-Mormon feel to it however. Most annoying of all is the insistence on using the full name of the church instead of saying “Mormon.” It’s an obvious nod to the Mormon prophet who recently proclaimed that every time someone uses the term “Mormon” it’s a “major victory” for Satan. Obviously that’s a ridiculous statement (see recent prophets who endorsed the “Meet the Mormons” movie, the “I’m a Mormon” campaign, the Mormon Channel, Mormon.org, etc) but the podcasters have taken it to heart and insist on using the full 11 syllable name of the church instead of just saying “Mormon,” which is easily understood and recognized by listeners and shouldn’t be considered an epithet.

Dave is a great storyteller. When I listen it feels almost as if I am there. Even though I know the end from the beginning, I don't know the in between, and I can't wait for more episodes to come out!Read full review »
