Student veterans from Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas carried nearly 7,000 dog tags of service members who have died in the fight against terror 370 miles across Nevada. They began at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Las Vegas and arrived at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Memorial Day.

Truckee Meadows Community College is the first Purple Heart College in Nevada. Members of the Veterans Resource Center and Truckee Meadows Veterans Club were able to secure a parking spot designated solely to combat wounded veterans.
