Pompus Comedy Radio
I've listened to this podcast for a while, but I've quickly come to a few conclusions: 1) Scott Auckerman is funny 5% of the time and really shouldn't be allowed to host anything. 2) The show tends to drag unless some heavy hitters, like Pardo or Tompkins, show up. Random characters also add to the podcast, as long as you like silly/dumb impressions that are apropos of nothing. In general, a lot of behind-the-scene, quite comedians and comedy writers come on, and as interesting as they can be, they are often stepped on by the characters or (worse) Auckerman. Auckerman likes to act like a fake drama queen and it really puts a damper on whatever the legitimate comics contribute to a segment. Lastly, most of the segments like "Would you rather" are just massive wastes of time and they don't add anything that memorable to the show. They, again, fill time with needless questions and Scott ad-libbing poorly. With all of the comedy-related podcasts out there, you can do better than Comedy Death Ray. All too often it is a studio filled with truly pompous comedians and that isn't the scene I'm into (despite being a fan of many of the alt comics and Comedy Death Ray album contributors). If there was any consistence to these podcasts, they would be infinitely more enjoyable.Read full review »

The segment where a guest impersonates someone else always has me laughing, I hope they keep that up. Except for the occuasional Jimmy Pardo...Read full review »
