THE MOST OVERUSED SONGS IN FILM (JUNE 20, 2022)
Hello listeners. As you might have guessed by now, comPOSERS is on a bit of a break. Jay, Aaron and I are all working a lot right now, and I've had a lot of insurance- and physiotherapy-related b******t on my plate to boot, so we're struggling to find time. We do plan to be back soon, so please watch this space for updates. In the meantime, thanks to those of you who've reached out through email to make sure we're okay. We're not, but no worse than anybody else in the late-stage capitalist hellscape of 2024!
Anyway, have a Patreon special from two years ago. This one was a lot of fun. Thanks for listening and be good to yourselves and one another, because you're all worth it.

TOMORROW NEVER DIES (1997) - Series 15: Episode 221
Bond. JAY'S Bond. Yes, it's our funniest comPOSER's 40th birthday, so we're giving him both episodes this month, which means of course two weeks of gadgets, girls and guns (and martinis, but it doesn't fit the alliteration). First up: it's Tomorrow Never Dies with music by the incomparable David Arnold!

THE EDGE (1997) - Series 15: Episode 220

-
BRAVEHEART (1995) - Series 15: Episode 219
HORNSMITH IS UPON US! This month we're covering one film each from the electrifying compositional duo brought together by the power of Jerry Goldsmith's daughter. This week: 1995's epic historical drama about a time when Mel Gibson was a sought-after actor. It's Braveheart with music by the inestimable James "Horny" Horner!

Please listen to this podcast, it’s absolutely fantastic. They might not be the definitive voice on what a good movie score is, they might not even be a good voice, but over the past few months working as a delivery driver during a pandemic they’ve accompanied me on every trip, every day and given me great laughs. Though at times they edge on the offensive, it seems their true hearts always shine through in the end. 5 stars for a good casual companion-like podcast ❤️👍🏾
Why
I’ve never left a bad review for a podcast but I was so excited to listen to this podcast because I love discussing film scores but I’ve listened to a few episodes and all they do is complain. I got thirty minutes into the Thor Ragnarok episode and had to shut it off cause I just couldn’t take it anymore. All they did was bash on the movie and wouldn’t even hear the guy out who was trying to explain it. I was half way through the episode and the podcast about movie score had yet to even bring up the score. I’m so disappointed in this.
Hilarious!
First, I fall into the old school category. Have been collecting soundtracks for 40+ years now. I don’t think I’ve agreed with any one of your ratings but I love the podcast. You all are 100% real and that is what makes the podcast worth listening too. Keep them coming!
