Re-title it 50 questions?
Strange that the title is "Conversations with Tyler" when the structure of the podcast involves what appears to be deeply researched questions - often showing off how clever the host or his researcher is - but there is not actual conversation in the sense of a thoughtful give and take between two people. Cowan offers no response to his guest's answers, but moves on rather robotically to the next question. Is this over produced, and lacking in any spontenaeity? I find the questions that refer to an unlikely interest the guest may have - is the third track on side two of Prince's fifth album better than the second track on his first album? - gratingly " aren't I super smart, unpredictable and cool?" The guests are mostly excellent but listening is hard going.Read full review »

Thoughtful, wide-ranging and generally fun to listen to. I would recommend this podcast to anyone who wants to carve out a small amount of time to think deeply about their world.
