The breath and depth of the conversations are remarkable
Tyler’s prep work before he speaks with his guests really stand out. He digs deep into his guest’s previous and current works to ask sometimes off the wall but highly relevant questions. These questions bring out answers from the guests that they probably never have thought of. Tyler is not your typical interviewer. His ability to keep an hour long conversation easy to understand while avoiding trivial questions and his talent for exploring a topic in depth always makes me look forward to his next conversation.

When I want intellectual breadth AND depth, I go to Tyler. I want conversations that stretch my thinking - that invite me to consider new perspectives that have been vetted to be insightful - not necessarily RIGHT. I want more VALUABLE perspectives to integrate. I get them here.

Big fan of the show. Cowen is incredibly, intimidatingly smart, and the guests come from a variety of disciplines. Highly recommend.

Tyler's signature interview segment is when he asks his guest whether they think some list of things is overrated/underrated? The segment is brilliant, like Tyler himself. It highlights the way he thinks and the breadth of topics he is interested in.Read full review »
