Carol Teegardin worked at the Detroit Free Press and the Detroit News for a total of 21 years. She penned Carol T, once regarded by Detroit Monthly Magazine as Michigan’s top investigative-style gossip column, covering society, sports and current events. She also covered business news, winning an award in 1999 for coverage of Michigan’s record high employment. A former adjunct professor of Journalism at University of Detroit-Mercy College, she also taught at Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills, Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Ca. and at the Los Angeles Unified Public School System in Los Angeles. She has been back in Michigan since 2005 teaching and writing. Carol penned a book entitled “Strawberry, How An Exotic Dancer Toppled Detroit’s Hip-Hop Mayor” and recently finished a play based on the book.
