I really liked the podcast as “crime beat” with solved cases. Now it change to “crime beat most wanted” and I am not a fan of podcast of only open cases - unfortunately will stop listening

I liked when Nancy did the podcasts on crime stories in depth. These “Most Wanted” episodes are ok but I really miss the old format.

I thought maybe Nancy would be coming back with the original long story content which we all loved but it’s looking more and more like these short news clips and it’s not even close to the same calibre. I keep checking but don’t like the new take. It’s sad because this was one of my go to...Read full review »

I used to really enjoy the reporting but now it seems like a bunch of filler episodes (everyone knows what I mean) and or random non local stores told in 30 minutes or less, with no real story just a quick report read from a script. Cancelled the payment, quality isn’t there anymore Too bad, I...Read full review »

It’s great to have a crime podcast based out of Canada, in comparison to the American ones because of how different the two justice systems are. The inclusion of different perspectives of the crime such as the victims, law enforcement and the narration by Nancy Hixt allow great insight to the...Read full review »

As a recent new listener of Crime Beat, I am listening to all shows to catch up. The host is top notch and focuses on the victim while providing a thorough explanation of the case. The relationship Nancy develops with victims and their families is clearly one of trust and mutual respect. This is...Read full review »

I like this show and how the host tells the story but I don’t understand how they’re posted. It’s all different stories mixed up with missing parts. It looks like they’re jumping from story to story not finishing the previous one first. It’s too hard to follow.

Well researched and well told crime stories.

I very much enjoy this podcast. It is so well researched and includes interesting guests. Well done, Nancy!

I have been watching the show since day one and as scary as the episodes are they’re also well written, well researched and well presented; I feel safer knowing then remaining in blissful ignorance. Nancy is very respectful with victims survivors.
Ledfutkoukla via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 06/05/24
Nancy gets the background details, the players’ perspectives, including those most affected by the crime, and weaves a compelling story. It can be both touching and tragic at times but always told with compassion. These stories will stay with you.

Nancy is my favourite podcaster. Her voice and diction are music to me. I can hear & understand her every word. The content of Crime Beat is honestly written and spoken. Thank you Nancy!

Used to listen faithfully. Now the podcasts are aired on tv and repeated here weeks later. Wish there would be some different episodes. Still great work by Nancy and team.

This is for sure one of my favorite podcasts. Been listening for years. Love all the Info and interviews and that I can picture the places since it’s Alberta. Only complaint is k wish episodes came sooner but that’s ok, something to look forward to.

I just recently discovered this podcast and am so glad I found it. True Crime is a genre that I have been fascinated with for years, so I have listened to many podcasts on the subject. This one really stands out to me as one of the best for several reasons. The first is how Nancy really focuses...Read full review »

Like the podcast. The research, interviews, delivery all good. My only criticism would be how you label your episodes. I find myself looking for part 1 of a 3 part but don’t get how you’re labeling some stories and can’t find episodes easily.

Want to listen to the podcast but part 1 of 5? I have no patience for 2 part episodes let alone 5? No thank you

Love the podcast but wow, Nancy is a SLOW talker. Hard to disregard once you realize just how careful she enunciates e-v-e-r-y word.

This is the best true crime podcast I have listened to and I have listened to many. Nancy is a very good story teller/ investigative reporter. Nancy focuses on the victim to be sure we know who they are and how much they meant to their family and friends. Well done.

Are distracting and annoying
TildaJean via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/27/24
Nancy just finds a way - EVERY EPISODE - to interject herself into the story. The episodes used to be fulsome and well-researched but they are now skimming the surface and very short with little context. Except how Nancy fits in… that, I assure you, is covered… slowly.

Love this podcast! Articulate, empathetic, presents all the facts with compassion in a calm manner. One of the best crime podcasts I’ve listened to.

If you looking for a great podcast about crime- this one is for you. Nancy has a great voice and tells stories in a way I like it. I quickly became addicted to her pod 🙂

This podcast is so well written and researched. I can tell Nancy Hixt really cares about the people who are affected by these crimes. The only reason I can’t give five stars is Nancy’s delivery style. She sounds like she’s talking to a three year old. Slow and almost patronizing. It can be quite...Read full review »

A good crime podcast, but after a couple of seasons the content becomes thin. The platform still gets used to tell important stories, but occasionally slips into patting the host on the back a little too much. The worst aspect, though, are the ads, they are overly loud, obnoxiously placed, and...Read full review »

Each episode has been meticulously written and produced. All questions that are possible have been addressed. Really enjoy the legal and police input.
Grace20018 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 08/23/23
The new episodes are boring, and lack the depth of the earlier seasons. Maybe you can move into other cases in Alberta/Canada that you didn’t cover, but can still do a podcast of. Kinda like dateline. Used to love listening but not too much anymore.

Really enjoy this podcast but way too many commercials, and the same ones over and over.
Sizzle9999999 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 08/09/23
I like this podcast. I don’t like the constant, repetitive, surprisingly stupid choice of ads. Mixing a crime podcast featuring serious conversations about stuff like murders with cheerfully annoying ads for chicken McNuggets doesn’t work. It’s really, really dumb. And no, I won’t ever buy...Read full review »

I never get tired of listening to these! Nancy Hixt makes all the stories interesting and makes you feel like you were actually there. She does a great job of keeping the story respectful even being so detailed. My favorite.

There several excellent true crime and crime based pods out there. But once you’ve finished the best ones, you’re stuck looking for one that is well written and where the narrator isnt annoying. Try this one - it is excellent.

I really loved this podcast for the first few seasons, in fact it was one of my favourites and I listened to the episodes multiple times.
