Tabloidy
This podcast feels like the overwrought late-90s tabloid/news-panic version of true crime podcasting. It lacks the human angle that has made true crime such a popular topic. It doesn’t understand the difference between tv new segments and longer-form storytelling. It’s overly self-congratulatory while being obviously hungry to get ahead on the backs of people in pain. And speaking in over-used journalism commandments like “we all have a job to do” gives the podcast a sanitized feeling that there were sketchier actions not mentioned. A predatory air that may be fine when focused on killers and the like, but adds an untrustworthy feel in a world more knowledgeable on news-created panics, false convictions, and more.

Her honest assessment of the offenders and the horrific crimes they have committed...Read full review »
