True Crime at it’s Best
I have been obsessed with true crime since childhood, and find this podcast to be exceptionally well done. It is interesting and engaging from the very first episode, it took moments for me to be drawn in. The victims’ stories and that of their families is thoughtfully and carefully told, which is very difficult considering the subject matter. No detail is spared, and yet it is relayed with sensitivity. Nancy Hixt is an excellent crime reporter, she is very thorough and paints a complete picture of each painful story. Her connection to the families of the victims makes it all the more real, raw and emotional. I cried through many an episode feeling connected myself through her storytelling. Well done.

I love the attention to detail in this podcast. This journalist clearly cares about the victims and her hard work shows.

Meh
Stories are kind of cool but the host is “performing”. I know she is a reporter but just tell the story, no need to be so theatrical. It’s annoying.

Love this podcast so far. It’s right up there with Dark Poutine and Canadian True crime. Crime Beat seems well researched and Nancy does a good job providing context. I like the pace of the episodes and the inclusion of interviews. Looking forward to hearing more episodes!
