“I am a discerning crime junkie: I demand the victims and victim’s families be treated with the utmost respect. I don’t want sensationalism, I want advocacy. How can we help? The need to learn about and understand crimes come second to this for me. Crime Junkie aces this. Knowing who the people were whose lives were cut short, and the true tragedy for the world as a whole now that they’re no longer in it is such important work. It also surely takes a toll for Ashley and Brit and the entire AudioChuck team. The advocacy makes me feel like I am helping just by listening, and all the other ways presented to help is so appreciated. The way the episodes are crafted really helps to understand what happened, and makes me feel safer in the world because we see recurring things predators do that would never be obvious otherwise - because most of us are not predators. Our minds don’t work that way. I often cry while listening, but I keep coming back. This is my favorite podcast by far. It’s just so nice to have people who clearly care so much. I’m very thankful this exists.”
