“Just listened to their latest episode and though I do enjoy their voices and commentary and I think they did a great job staying focused on the topic at hand, I feel like they sympathized FAR TOO MUCH with Martha the murderer, who yes by all means may have had an emotionally abusive childhood but let’s also remember that SHE WAS A CHILD MURDERER!!!! She murdered (twice attempted and once successful!) a TWO YEAR OLD. PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF THE VICTIMS AND RESPECT OF THEIR FAMILIES - STOP ROMANTICIZING A FRICKEN MURDERER. People are abused, they’ve led a life of sadness and hardships (myself included) but most do not end up murdering people. That should NOT have been our last thoughts from you and our takeaway from the story! “Martha’s story was sad”….you know whose life was also sad?? The BABY SHE DROWNED!! You really ended the story with discussing how you FEEL SORRY FOR MARTHA? That crosses so many boundaries. Are you ok?! For pete’s sake. Incredibly disrespectful. I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and this overall “take” on the story was so disappointing, tacky and they should be embarrassed. I hope the relatives of the poor baby and her mother who was also murdered by the pair won’t end up listening to this because it’s so gross. No, I won’t be buying your book. DO BETTER!”
