“History Hit is a blast! It’s thought provoking and informative. Dan is also skilled at making it relevant to current issues, which gets him into a little trouble with tetchy Americans, especially when he insults Trump. I can understand why they might get annoyed, but Dan’s comments are generally in good faith and often on target.
As far as Dan’s overzealousness, I think it actually makes the show more engaging and fun, and adds some charm and quirkiness. It also keeps the bleaker subjects from getting too depressing.
On another note, I found this definition of overzealous on vocabulary.com, and it does kinda describe Dan’s more “excitable” moments ;)
