“I was eager to listen to the first episode after hearing about this new podcast. It sounded like a novel idea but I found it odd how the biblical “scholar” was presenting a view that seemed to take what I’d call a more secular view of the Bible and using every opportunity to present contrary details to what I’d call mainline Christianity. I should have know there was a deeper problem when he started talking about God as “a deity”, and little by little chipping away at the biblical narrative. I had to look in a few places but found that this biblical scholarship was really underpinned by a Mormon viewpoint. The scholar is a Mormon and not a real follower of Christ. Mormons believe anyone can be a god of their own world, that Jesus is simply a god who was once an ordinary man. That’s heretical and not at all biblical. Their Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible. So don’t trust what’s being taught in this podcast. What’s taught here won’t lead you to eternal life, truth or salvation. It’ll only keep you further from God. Check out a great podcast like Cold Case Christianity. Don’t be misled. “Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.””
