Today’s meditation is taken from Psalm 66. It is exciting when God hears us. Imagine! Creator of the Universe hears us! Each of us. When we call… He answers. How amazing! It’s something to tell others about. Have you noticed God’s care for you? Has He answered when you called Him? Just as the Psalmist is excited about God’s care for him, let’s tell our friends about the time God heard us, too.

The Psalmist speaks of disaster – mountains melting and oceans roaring, nations out of control and kingdoms falling. In the midst of it all, God is our refuge. God’s voice replaces the destructive forces with a power that is greater than the oceans and mountains, greater than kingdoms and rulers – even the earth must obey. We are safe in His city.

Today’s meditation is Psalm 66, verses 1-6. We often sing of God’s glory but do we take time think about what that is? His glory? The Psalmist says in the Message translation, Sing songs to the tune of his glory, set glory to the rhythms of his praise. There is a rhythm even to these words: the tune of His glory and the rhythm of His praise. He gives us the words, the praise to give back to Him. God fills our mouths with song. It bursts from our hearts and we can’t hold back from the majesty...

The glory of God is displayed in the heavens, in the humility of Jesus to be a man and in the forever life we even now can live. Life, light and love are more than what we think or see or feel. They are the eternal presence of the everylasting, neverending, all powerful, always present God of the Universe.

Peace is from God. We try to generate it, duplicate it and think that by saying it, it happens. It is a spoken word originating from God and given to us. Words are life-giving, or life-taking. Accepting peace is an act of our will, and a posture of our heart through which life is reproduced in the fullness of God-likeness as we carry about the life of Jesus in us. Listen carefully and let the peace of God rule in your heart and mind today.

Today’s meditation is taken from Psalm 27. Sometimes we need to speak the truth out loud. We need to hear ourselves confess our allegiance to God. We need to say ‘why’ we trust Him and ‘why’ we praise Him. The beginning of this psalm offers a few reasons. It is enough to get us thinking in the right direction. To be reminded of God’s faithfulness to us. God’s belief in us! From that place of understanding, we remember we don’t have to be afraid.

Today’s meditation is from Psalm 65, verses 9-13. These verses are so poetic! “Visit the earth! Ask her to join the dance! Paint the wheat fields… scatter rose petals down your paths…” our imaginations soar. The creativity of God and of man to dream of God’s interaction with creation in such a way is heartening. It lifts our spirit and reminds us that God is involved in the process of growth and every thing that lives on the earth. Let the earth rejoice, indeed.

Today’s meditation is based on verses 1-8 from Psalm 63. This psalm, this poem might be worth memorizing- it is praise and it speaks of a relationship with God that is both personal and vulnerable. It is a reminder that telling God how much he means to us, how we recognize His help, and His presence and our need for Him in our everyday. “Your hand keeps me safe.” Yes, your hand keeps me safe.

Today’s meditation is Psalm 65, verses 1-8. Neither day nor night has a voice yet each speaks of God and His power. The utter greatness of God is on display throughout creation – from the ocean waves pounding on the shore to the night sky bright with light from billions of years ago. As we discover more, we realize how little we know about God and how very little time we devote to getting to know Him, the one who knew us first. Who loved us before we were born. Father, forgive us our...

Jesus' words to our Father are the urging and desires of love. Wanting nothing more than we would experience the riches of understanding. How we desire that as well! So much is made known when we trust God's timing, God's direction and God's whispers.

We are reminded in this Psalm that it is our Father God who gives us strength and protects us. When we are facing oppression, and war, struggling against injustice and fear – it is not by our might or power but because we know and believe and have faith in God that we see His hand turn the turmoil into peace.

In this meditation, listen for words of encouragement - that your joy may be full, that your love may be full. Often Jesus talked of us being full and complete when we're 'in' Him and with Him. Might we trust that this is true? that we indeed have wholeness now because we are with Him?

One of the new paraphrases of the Scriptures describes faith as reaching into the future! Imagine! We find it difficult to consider this concept yet, isn’t that where God is? In the future, beyond time, in an eternal now? If that is so, might our faith, when expressed as trust and belief transport our spirit to God’s throne where we declare with confidence our trust in God’s goodness, His power and that His will be done here as it is already done in heaven? Listen closely as the scriptures...

One of the most amazing statements in Scripture is that by being in Christ, we are complete. We are whole. We are not lacking. It is a complete truth. It is amazing because we see flaws, brokenness, and weaknesses. God tells us we are already made new people, whole and holy. He stands with open arms telling us we are healed. We can stay frozen where we are or we can step into His kingdom and live in who He says we really are.

Wisdom is a gift from God. It is more precious than jewels, and more valuable than money. It cannot be measured yet we know it is must be sought. God says to ask for it. And only with God’s help can we understand what He gives us. Let God open your mind to what His wisdom will do for you and in you. Just ask Him.

Being in Christ, we live in forgiveness and we are invited to choose to live fully in what we've been given - the power of God. The power of forgiveness is an irretractable truth that as sin is covered, a gift is given. Not only has God restored us to life, He has also given us the power to live it, as He does.

Peter laid out for us the progression for growing up, for maturing as adults. They are choices we make in behavior forming our character. From faith to goodness to knowledge, we apply our understanding and trust God to add and increase our capacity for goodness and more knowledge. It is in our search for more of God that we receive so much more – causing us to grow up into the persons God designed, and desires us to be.

Memory is a precious tool. Our brains store thoughts and emotions for us to retrieve later. Through practice, we train our brains to retrieve these thoughts bringing to our consciousness for use. We take for granted we will remember all we have been taught, but without practice of retrieval and repetition we are likely to forget, to not remember. God tells us to ‘remember’ – who He is, what He has promised and who we are to Him. Practice remembering. Listen repeatedly to His truths about...

Are you tired? Do you wonder when and if the demands on your time will ease? We know we need to carve out time to rest, yet it is an easy thing to trade for getting one more thing done. The truth is only as we trust God with our lives – the very moments of each day, will be able to let go of the work, the plans, the projects, the schedules, the demands that interrupt and the weariness of it all. God gives us permission to rest. It’s a trust issue. Trusting God to hold our world together as we...

How easily we identify ourselves by the roles we fill - mother, father, teacher, doctor, athlete, and so on. We easily speak of what we do. How easily can we speak of who we are? Have we looked in the mirror, and held our reflection long enough to see, really see who is there? Take a few extra seconds to look at yourself in the mirror and ask God to show you who He sees.

God will always hear our cry, and pull us out of the pit of condemnation. It is our hope in Him that pleases Him. He does not operate in time but in the outcome of maturing us to be who He knows we are. We don't see it. We will trust that whatever we are struggling with, will resolve in His timing. Open your heart to hope once again, and let God’s Spirit remind you He has your back, He is with you, He will rescue you.

What is it about Peace that we all seek? It is a feeling and a frame of mind. It is also a place where the heart rests, where our anxiety is calmed, and our worries are banished. Sometimes we are so occupied with seeking it that we miss it – to be at peace is to refrain from struggling, to accept where we are regardless of how we measure the journey. Often it’s a choice – in the midst of chaos. Choose peace. Trust God. That’s where he wants us to be. Trusting Him is our source of peace. In...
