Firsts With Jennifer Garner (Eps. 109-112)

Firsts With Jennifer Garner (Eps. 109-112)

Greg returns to discuss Episodes 109-112 with Juliet. They cover many firsts for Felicity: her first Thanksgiving away from home, her first finals, her first time (almost). It’s a momentous stretch for 'Felicity' and for TV as we now know it. Jennifer Garner appears as a guest star, playing Noel’s girlfriend Hannah, and it’s her first step into the J.J. Abrams cinematic universe. We commemorate the occasion as Garner comes on the podcast to talk about auditioning for the role of Hannah, working with J.J. on 'Alias,' and why she’s seen every episode of 'Felicity' despite appearing in only a few of them.

Pink Guy With Devon Gummersall and Joanna Robinson

Content warning: Juliet, Mandy, and the guests discuss 'Felicity' Episodes 107 and 108, which depict rape.
In the years since the episodes “Drawing the Line: Part 1” and "Part 2" (107 and 108) aired on the WB, they have remained the most progressive ones. Juliet enlists The Ringer’s Joanna Robinson to talk about why those episodes have endured both because of and despite the difficult topic of rape. Next, Mandy joins Juliet to discuss some behind-the-scenes context, and finally, Devon Gummersall joins the show to talk about the duality of playing Pink Guy on Felicity and Brian Krakow on 'My So-Called Life.' Gummersall reflects on how playing both guys impacted his career overall.

Yay!

Just finished my fourth rewatch… now as a 40 year old married woman. As a college girl, I was Ben and Felicity all day. I fully expected this rewatch to put me on the Noel bandwagon. Nope! I’m more of a Ben and Felicity Stan than ever! All that boy needed was love of a strong woman. He realizes that pretty quickly and gives it back! I feel like he had the biggest transformation of all the characters. You’ll come back to the Ben bandwagon in season 2. Although, the last episode arc does him dirty.

It has been so amazing hearing a deep dive from the actors and writers! You have made my life! Thanks so much for your work!

Serious nostalgia

This podcast simply brings me joy. It feels like catching up with an old friend. Thank you Juliet for this gift.

SUPER Fan!

I freakin love Felicity. It’s the reason why I moved to NYC and went to NYU. It influenced me in so many ways and every few years I find myself rewatching the series. When I heard about this podcast I was so so excited. I love the cohosts and special guests. What a treat! My only gripe, and lots of reviews have been saying this, is the host Juliet. She claims to know the series and to an extent she does but she does get some details wrong like when Noel says Blair/ Tinman doesn’t have a heart. He said it after Elena spent the night with him. I also question her opinions and some of her questions are just wacky! Other than that I love the podcast!
