Frustrating
This is an interesting topic, but terribly frustrating to listen to. It feels really drawn out, and the sound design, while excellent, is over-utilised. On occasions, I felt as if I after hearing a sentence, or maybe two, there would be a dramatic swell in the soundtrack. On other occasions, the soundtrack made it difficult to focus on what people were saying, especially when they are elderly and/or English isn’t their first language. But most frustrating of all: why put all that effort into sound design, only to have a host with an idiotic voice? The series would be much better presented only by the Norwegian journalist, who has a very good voice. The BBC guy, meanwhile, says things like “anythinK” and “something”, pronouncing the “g” at the end. Is he a broadcaster? So many of his comments are inane, as is their forced “banter”/script reading. But worst of all, it drags the content out even more! Half the number of episodes would have been sufficient to cover this material. It felt so dragged out, and the sound design felt like filler. I mean no disrespect here. I love the BBC, and expect a higher standard.

I’m sorry I thought we’d already had the preview.... or was that a prelude to the preview? What’s next ? Preview part 2?

Too much talk of the weather and dramatic background music - could be a good story but only 5 minutes of info per episode, too slow for me.

I see people have already rated this podcast, despite the fact that it’s not been released yet. So I’m also going to arbitrarily give it a mark 🤔 hmmm... 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
