Today is May 2017 and there had been a long gap since June 2016 with only one new episode in December 2016. Is this podcast still active?

Guy English has a disarming interview style that deftly sketches out a guests motivations, background and expertise. An insightful listen for the expert and enthusiast alike. Rene Ritchie provides solid side-kick support with relevant and timely interjections, without compromising the...Read full review »

Very interesting and entretaining interviews and debates on technical matters, mostly Apple related stuff.
HairyForce2 via Apple Podcasts · Mexico · 06/12/16
Enjoy the show but episodes can stretch on for far too long, and sometimes Rene doesn't say anything for almost the entire show.

Love this podcast and really appreciate the interviews you conduct but for the love of my sanity can you please edit out the heavy breathing happening in the background. Very distracting while trying to listen to the guests speak.

Love this podcast! Gives you an insight into the old Apple days as well as today, and everything in between. Quality guests and I appreciate the hosts and Guy's sense of humor!

Debug is awesome. Hosts bring interesting guests with great stories. Rene and Guy always ask interesting things and discussions are thought provoking. I always look forward to the next episode :)

This show is really great in almost every respect. The hosts are good, the guests are good, every episode is filled with great stories and information. But, seriously guys, two hours is too freaking long for a podcast episode. Yes, I know I can break it into chunks myself, but more often than not...Read full review »

I really love this show. I love it when it gets really technical and I love hearing the stories of developers from the very beginning. It’s great historical context to the personal computer revolution.
jtrwallace via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/31/15
This would have been my favorite show, but Guy is really annoying. He cuts off his guests, is rather condescending, and his voice is not suitable for being a host. He stutters, taking too long pauses between the words, so its a pain to listen. A shame that he destroys an otherwise great show.

This show is great, and the episode with Jon Edwards about watches is really timely.

This show never gets old. I love hearing how life works as a developer
MacBKin via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/23/15
Good but hard to listen to at times because of all the harsh profanity. I don't mind myself but for others.... Can't play while working. Can't play while family is around. Would be great for learning too if it wasn't such a hard adult talk.
RVinSoul via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/17/15
My favorite podcast. Guy is always amazingly well prepared. My favorite episodes are those that walk through a developer's entire history from the first time they started using computers. Guy English… Not a dummy.

But these guys are rather good. I especially like Guy's demeanour and Georgia's laugh.

I've really been enjoying this podcast. Although the website says they are a 'show about developing software and services, primarily for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and gaming' don't let the focus on Apple fool you, if that is not your primary focus, they discuss topics that would be of interest to any...Read full review »

If you have any Interest, even a tangential one, in development this is a must listen. The guests are completely enjoyable. It is definitely one that I will always listen to, as long as they keep recording it.

Lots of things to love about this show. Guy is a thoughtful interviewer, asking great questions of his technical guests. He knows the type of things the listeners of the show want to hear about, and his questions draw that information out. "He's not a dummy." I love history, so I love it when...Read full review »

Debug has been my go-to podcast on drives to work. Perfect blend of witty, funny, technical, and engaging. (For developers of course.) My only wish is that there were more of them! Great job, Guy and Rene!

Doesn't treat the audience like dummies and the presenters are not dummies. If you want some deep tech and enjoy intelligent analysis and conversation, just subscribe now! They get the best guests and every episode is a treat.

The episodes cover a broad range of development and everyone on the show can be described in Guy's words as "Not a dummy". There are some fascinating discussions with former Apple engineers that pull back the veil and let you see how they pulled off some amazing advances. There is always...Read full review »

The guests they have on this are stellar. It's relaxed and fun, but extremely interesting and like a glimpse under the curtain of Apple. An absolute must for anyone interested in this company.

Great show for developers and techies, they do a fantastic work revealing people's background and backstage episodes that allow listeners to understand software engineering people, process and products history much better.

You'll love it or hate it. The Ginatra/Melton shows are always a treat.

This podcast is at the top of my priority list in Overcast. Guy and René bring in great guests and have deep, insightful discussions with great guests. You don't want to miss it. Be prepared, however, for mediocre sound quality and editing. Guests and hosts aren't in the same room and sometimes...Read full review »

If you are interested in knowing how the software industry works on the inside, this is the definitive show. Guy and Rene have managed to create a great series of interviews with indie, open source and "big corporate" developers. This is a real-deal, no-bs conversation about how things really...Read full review »

A rare look inside development from great guests that actually know what they are talking about, interviewed by hosts that can actually understand what is being discussed. The hosts are good, the format is good, but the guests are great. Worth listening to.

Some reviewers have complained about Guy’s speaking style. Wow. Get a life. Guy’s the best. I use Marco’s Overcast app and do not use the Smart Speed effect (that shorten’s silences) as it make everyone sound the same. Pauses and cadence are part of someone’s personality and when you remove...Read full review »

I love this podcast, the choice of guests are great and the questions are great. I would like to hear Rene speak more often. A lot of the other reviews are quite harsh on Guy, unfairly I think, as he does ask great questions and keeps the conversation going. Not too say he doesn’t interrupt a...Read full review »

Genuinely good stuff I enjoy listening to people who have had more interesting lives than myself
rokorre via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/24/15
The best guests and two great hosts that know how to both ask the right questions and shut up at the right times. Also, don’t take a lot of stock in past reviews complaining about interrupting or bad sound quality. Both have gotten better over time. You’re only hurting yourself if you don’t listen.
adamschlag via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/24/15
Outstanding guests, with outstanding insights. Guy is a great interviewer, and has a great rapport with his guests. Yes, he occasionally interrupts, but it works out well, and this is a discussion by developers, so it’s not going to be as polished as an NPR show. The insights are absolutely...Read full review »

Debug is for people who write code, or manage people who write code. The episodes with former Apple Directors Don Melton and Nitin Ganatra are master classes in what it takes to ship great software. Depth, thoughtfulness, insight, and one of the best lineups of guests you’ll ever hear. Rene and Guy do an especially good job of making sure their guests shine, and remain the focus of the show. Certain other Apple-oriented podcast hosts (me) could learn something from them in this regard.
