good content but i won’t listen to misleading ads embedded in the content
I liked this show but in episode 4 they have ads embedded into the content so you don’t even know it’s an ad until the end. One of these was an interruption with supposedly a voicemail from the company to the podcast. (Is that supposed to be a subliminal message??) In the other, the host seamlessly began spouting pseudoscience that was not revealed to be an ad until she was done. Decoder Ring, you may have gotten paid a bit more by this advertiser but you have lost at least one listener.

This podcast is like a fantastic monthly column on interesting current culture. The stores embed what seem like fads or ephemera into a wider historical context. The monthly format allows for more depth and careful construction of the episode. The journalist is smart. Nice!

The vocal fry is TOO MUCH! Literally every sentence. I can’t even listen to to content. I know that this is preferential, so that’s why I stick with 5 stars but ouch!

It’s a great premise for a podcast but both the content and it’s delivery falls short. Unsubscribing.
