Everyone is talking about narcissism today but most of these so called experts have no mental health background. Doesn’t make them totally wrong in their analysis but they tend to stigmatize and rarely discuss the root causes of narcissism. In addition, I believe mental health providers have also failed to discuss the root causes of narcissism and the different types of narcissists. For example, covert narcissism and altruistic narcissism. If you believe all narcissism is overt and theatrical, you will miss the subtle narcissists and they can be the most dangerous of them all.
