Patronising pseudoscience
I really wanted to like these, but I just can’t. The topics have the potential to be really interesting, but they’re always tackled from a very privileged, middle-class angle which the presenters don’t admit to. The guests range from the benign to the quacks. Amelia Freer spouted some absolute nonsense about food being worse for us if we don’t eat it near trees. This is obviously PSEUDOSCIENCE and neither Matt nor Ella challenged her about it! The episode on teaching yourself to be happy was particularly patronising - some folks can’t just “think” or “eat” or “meditate” themselves. Some people need medication to balance their mental health. The presenters didn’t discuss this at all and it’s a pretty big oversight in my opinion. Overall, avoid if you don’t want fluffy, cosy, curated and pseudoscientific middle-class content.
