Misleading title
The conceit of shaming dice lasted less time than their average chit-chat intro. When they actually get around to playing, it’s great though. The story is interesting, the characters are wonderful and the DM has created an engaging adventure. However, it is not an exaggeration to say the first half of any given episode is small talk you’d expect to hear at a coffee klatsch. Literally 20 minutes of strangers engaging in small talk. They all seem like genuinely nice people, but I can honestly say I really have no interest in their favorite candy or weddings they’ve been to. I’m listening to an actual play podcast to hear…actual play. The intros have gotten longer over time, which is unfortunate, because I’m invested in the story now. If I were a new listener, I can honestly say I would have probably listened to two or three episodes, then unsubscribed.

I listen at work and it’s really the only reason I get excited about going to work, haha. Great voices and wonderful characters! I ended up listen cause I’ve already listened to Malevolent like nine times. Absolutely recommend.

Downloaded the Apple Podcasts app just for this review (because Pocketcasts doesn’t allow reviews or I just can’t find them). This is a great podcast and unfortunately I’m almost caught up (unfortunate because that means I can’t binge episodes anymore).
