Going to start this off with this is a five star review for a reason because I love these two women and the way they communicate. Women and crime is brilliantly produced. I have listened to every episode and I appreciate your respect for each other so much. I typically don’t enjoy two people on a...Read full review »

Listening to the podcast i really believe that Melanie could be innocent, but i saw an interview of hers and her body language its telling she is guilty, either way this is a sad case, those kids lost both of their parents and a life was lost. Great job on this podcast Megan and Amy

Melanie is clearly guilty, this is downright silly. Amy shlosbeeg, was more objective, but still too persuaded by Meghan.. Meghan sacks was too biased; she was too close to Melanie which caused her to not be objective. Even the questions for Melanie were too soft; I kept thinking that Meghan’s...Read full review »

I don’t think there was any bias with Meghan and Amy. I believe that Melanie is innocent, but I respect Amy’s POV and theory. I definitely agree with the slaughterhouse idea! Great show. Love you both!

Why are you both allowing Melanie to complain, bash, and whine about Bill? The man was brutally murdered, and even if she didn’t do it (which I think is a long shot), why does she continue to bash him in death, and you give her the platform. She’s small and couldn’t do it? Precisely the reason...Read full review »

I have to say I listen to your other shows and I am a fan. That being said I think you were objective in Melanie’s case but I feel like in Ryan’s case you just assumed he was innocent from the beginning. I do think Melanie is innocent after listening when I felt that she was guilty before...Read full review »

This has become my favorite crime podcast! Well documented. Educational. Entertaining. The hosts do an amazing job of explaining the case while given a legal analysis in layman’s terms. Excited for a season three.

I listen to every podcast you make. Direct appeal is easily my favorite. I was super surprised at some of the bad reviews? If you want to hear two incredibly educated and passionate women speak this is the show for you. They blow every crime podcast out of the water.

Way too much interrupting and cutting each other off constantly so points can’t get across. Slow down and let each other finish a sentence. Other than that I like and don’t care about the bias it’s interesting either way

Come on ladies! Melanie is guilty. The second hosts theory is way more plausible. The first one got way too close to Melanie. This podcast was so well done. I think her father in law was most likely involved. Now I am listening to Season 2 and changing my rating. This podcast is beyond biased. ...Read full review »

Your podcasts are very well researched and I thoroughly enjoy your intelligent and thoughtful insights. Thank you both so very much for your endeavours. I only wish that you didn’t speak as quickly as you do, as sometimes this senior’s mind needs slightly more time to truly absorb what is being...Read full review »

But for how many Wrongfully convicted people are in prisons, it’s a bummer to see they are covering very reasonable convictions. Sad.

I had not heard of this case prior - and it really captured my attention! I love listening to these 2 hosts and hear them explain certain things in the legal system that I just don't know. I don't think they are being biased just truly listening to what happened and basing an opinion on...Read full review »

Ugh. So I had a difficult time figuring out what I wanted to rate this. But geez - Melanie is so so guilty. This podcast isn’t unbiased. They’re basically defending a murderer. Clearly Melanie did and said certain things to clear herself (all murderers in her position would) but to think that...Read full review »

Season one was really fun because it wasn’t so cut and dry. Both of the hosts are brilliant (highly recommend their other podcasts women and crime, and Campus killings), so it was fun hearing all their thoughts/questions/concerns. This season was not as fun because it felt like they came into...Read full review »

I was more convinced and was more drawn to the case covered in season 1. The podcast is well researched and I love the two hosts. But the case covered in season 2 just didn’t grab me the way season 1 did.

I appreciate the thoroughness of the Widmer investigation, but think the hosts are too willing to give him a free pass. I think the evidence clearly points to him, and am always a bit disappointed when women go to such lengths to defend a man convicted of femicide. Abuse is private, of course...Read full review »

Listen to this if you want to hear two podcasters pretend they’re unbiased and analyzing cases but you can already tell by episode 2 of season 2 that they are going to do the same thing as season 1 and spend the whole season explaining why someone is innocent. It’s fine if you think Ryan is...Read full review »

I love these ladies! So well thought out, the Podcast comes from a well informed place. I’m willing to listen to the argument and give the defendant a fair assessment. I look forward to hearing all sides of this case.

The deep dive style of podcast is great and I’m thrilled Ryan Widmer is getting some new coverage of his case and his trials. I will continue to listen, but the number of times the hosts say “you know” to each other while they talk and share the story is so distracting that it detracts from the...Read full review »

I enjoyed the style of this podcast but to me it seems really obvious that she is guilty. I’m surprised the podcasters so clearly see her as innocent.

I am so excited to see that you will be covering the Sarah Widmer case. 🙌🏼🙌🏼Cannot wait to hear your thoughts and opinions.

Sensational coverage by this podcasting duo. I was 100% convinced of Melanie’s innocence until hearing of her and Celine ostensibly dining at Red Lobster… in NYC?!?!?!? Give me a friggin break! GUILTY.

There’s no real conclusion and from the evidence or points that are discussed over many episodes I felt that it must go somewhere……..but it doesn’t, she’s still in prison and only at the very end is the question asked; who killed him? The podcast was, for me, screaming out to have that aspect...Read full review »

I made it a while but I give up. It’s really tough to see so much attention on this case and things like Scott Peterson when theres so many people that actually do get railroaded in the court system. Body parts wrapped in blankets from Melanie’s work were found in her suitcases but no way she had anything to do with it. After much contemplation, the thing that clinches it for me is Melanie’s insistence that her attorneys intended for her to testify at trial. Impossible that they would ever have condoned this. There has never been a witness more vulnerable on cross. I now doubt her credibility in everything....Read full review »

The Iceman was actively killing at this time in NJ 1. Melanie’s attorneys were mob attorneys - if she felt her husband had issues via gambling… then easily it could have been him being taken out. And staging her guilt due to all of the media attention this death received. 2. Why didn’t she...Read full review »

Interesting but seriously, and quite obviously, the boundaries have blurred, and she is so obviously guilty. All of those circumstances lead to no one else. I watched the trial in live time. I have read and researched deeply. She is guilty.

This was one of the best investigative podcasts I’ve listened to in a long time. I was hooked and binged whole season. I love how this podcast takes an in-depth look at the case; it indeed has revealed reasonable doubt (although I do think Melanie did it, just not where and how the prosecution alleges.) and the flaws of both the prosecution and the defense. Looking forward to more seasons!

I was screaming at my phone when the hosts were confused why Melanie felt like she should leave after her husband tells her he is going to kill her.
