Shoutout to the creator for what is clearly a heart-led, authentic and thoughtful work that isn’t afraid to explore tough existential questions, including about capitalism, connection and sacrifice. The dose of humour and pacing /plot is great too.

A really neat story. The second season did a good job of subverting expectations and the overall sound was really good. The second season was kinda repetitive at times but still worth a listen

With two seasons, each ~90 minutes long, this is a wonderful self-contained sci-fi story with themes of isolation/loneliness. I enjoyed how the story built as the main character's journey took its toll and his backstory was revealed, leading to a tragic outcome.Read full review »

the story and voice acting are incredible. i was absolutely blown away by first season when it first came out, and the second season was equally as engaging and well acted. GREAT podcast!!

A very nicely done small sci-fi story that delves into the worries of being isolated and having to still perform the daily duties of life. The first season hit harder for me on an emotional level and the simple nature of it was rather refreshing and while I didn't love the second season it...Read full review »

Started out disliking the protagonist and almost dropped it. Glad I stuck through to the end. A bit predictable, but still great.

this show dares to ask the question: can you emotionally devastate an entire audience in only 6 episodes? yes. yes you can.

Holy hell this is incredible

this one does not stand out from the crowd. too many men making podcasts that star boring “”everyman”” characters. cant listen to a podcast where the main character is insufferable, sorry

I found your show through the Constants podcast and have to say it’s such a binge worthy podcast!! You tell such an amazing story and I had it pegged for a “Truman Show”esqe type scenario from about the third episode in!!! Loved every second of it and can’t wait to meet the rest of the characters...Read full review »

Astounding quality both in terms of writing, voice acting and production! Especially haunting ending, too, and perhaps one of the few instances where That Twist was pulled off very well. Bravo!
roboteggs via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 05/18/19
This show is so solidly crafted and well acted in this sci-fi audio drama that is not space opera, but existential examination. One of the finest audio dramas packed in a handful of episodes. Highly recommended!

The story told in the first season is beautiful and I can’t say anything about it without spoiling it, but it’s very well made. It’s a must listen.

This show has so much to offer. It is quick and to the point, being a fairly short audio drama, but every episode is a true gem. The ending of this show is very well crafted and really helps to bring a sense of meaning and importance to the rest of the season. This is a show you listen to two or...Read full review »

This is a brilliant short run story. It ties up neatly in the6 episodes but my god it packs a hell of a punch. I didn’t see the ending coming and when it did it left me shaken for days. It was so moving and absorbing and I can only hope they release more stories ASAP

Directive is so tightly formed, and so deliberate in its storytelling, that its first season stands alone as a classic short story formed in audio. The choices in audio and the slow build to its final ending is so, so good. The first season is amazing, and only has further to go as it goes along.

This series takes a nice dive into one of my favorite aspects of science: the human mind. Technology is often seen as frightening only when AI rise to rebel against humans, but honestly, humans are much more terrifying when left to their own devices. I got some great Moon (2009) vibes from this.
TTDeverin via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/22/19
This show is insanely well done and at the end of just six episodes you’re left there crying and it’s just so impressive how good it is. Incredibly heart-wrenching in the best way possible. Perfect for an afternoon where no one will be around.
