Story is ok, but production value is way off
I'm good with the story. I like these sort of crime stories, even if I know about the story beforehand. Here's what gets to me: 1) Online component is the same as the podcast - The companiion LA Times piece seems to be the script that the reporter is reading. Should have more pictures, videos, additional content that isn't available in the actual podcast. It almost feels like they couldn't decide if they wanted to do a written story or a podcast. Instead they did both, and it shows. If you want to do a podcast, make the online component a companion, not a script. 2) Production value is poor. It seems like one minute that reporter is recording interviews with a low qualtiy digital recorder, then the next moment they are in the studio. On top of that, it seems like they are trying to invoke the same style and feel of more notable podcasts (Serial, This American Life) by using similar music. It feels disjointed.Read full review »

Great storytelling and the production quality is superb. Recommended for fans of Serial, S-Town and In The Dark. Loving this so far!

Wow! Christopher is a wonderful host telling an amazingly horrific and yet sometimes funny story about a master manipulator. I’m enjoying this podcast!!

Unlike that staged crap on TV, this is a slice of life....no one can make this up or change the flow...
