Customer Reviews
You’ve helped me find my Savior in the scriptures!
I want to sincerely thank you for producing this podcast every week. I listen while walking and you excite me so much about the chapters we’re studying that I then take each of the little “extra” moments of my days to jump into the chapters myself, make notes, and literally spend any “extra” time I have with my Savior. Specifically your comments on Jacob 5 regarding the Lord “coming down” to where we are in the vineyard, and what he has done for those individuals planted in the poorest parts, really spoke to my heart and made me dive into this chapter. I work with 4 and 5 year old children- some from very poor parts of the vineyard. My prayer as I walk to work everyday is to have them feel the light of Christ through me, to know Him through me as I teach them to read and write. After all I do, I leave them each day feeling it’s just not enough. Your comments this week about vs. 20-23ish in chap 5- how the Lord is with those in the poorest parts, nourishing them continuously, filled me with such great peace. This is doctrine I have known before but the words spoke to me today. As I broke down during our family study tonight I admitted to my teen daughters that until this year I have not cared too much for Jacob 5. I testified to them to keep reading! Keep trying to understand! The Lord will consecrate their efforts and they will find Him in the scriptures too! Your podcast has aided me in this journey so truly accept my sincere gratitude for the time and effort it takes for you produce these podcasts every week. Thank you! Thank you!🥲

Wish it was my Gospel Doctrine Class
Have been listening/watching since 2020. Great podcast with amazing insights and focus on the scriptures - so amazed at the negativity in some of the reviews. Not following the manual or using Church distribution materials? I’ve sat through countless Gospel Doctrine classes and Fast & Testimony meetings where zero scriptures are read and people are just spouting off their own experiences and interpretations that have very little basis in the scriptures or doctrine — that is not this podcast. Grace brings a fun, youthful energy and perspective to this podcast. David and Grace have a genuine, infectious love for our Savior and the scriptures, and I appreciate the thought and care they put into these lessons. It’s easy to be critical typing on a screen and forget these are actual individuals. It’s a free resource (but yes you can buy other materials).
“Just as God rejoices when we persevere, He is disappointed if we do not recognize that others are trying too. Our dear friend Thoba shared how she learned this lesson from her mother, Julia. Julia and Thoba were among the early black converts in South Africa. After the apartheid regime ended, black and white members of the Church were permitted to attend church together. For many, the equality of interaction between the races was new and challenging. One time, as Julia and Thoba attended church, they felt they were treated less than kindly by some white members. As they left, Thoba complained bitterly to her mother. Julia listened calmly until Thoba had vented her frustration. Then Julia said, ‘Oh, Thoba, the Church is like a big hospital, and we are all sick in our own way. We come to church to be helped.’” - “Latter-day Saints Keep on Trying”
Not into podcasts
but I love this one and look forward to it each week. It’s been a great addition to my own study!
Keep up the good work!
And to those with their judgy comments, I bet you’re the same people who tear apart someone’s talk or lesson on Sunday. Perhaps a revisit of Uchtdorf’s talk “Stop It” should be in your study.
