“I found Thomas a few years ago on Instagram I think. Followed for a while then realized the account was gone or something so lost contact. Seen the name pop up on Ryan sticklers honeydew and was kinda shocked. Was glad to see dude out there still doing it even though the big socials keep deleting accounts and messing with them shadow style. I started at the beginning and am about 20 shows in. It is super interesting to follow someone and see the hustle pay off and them moving up in different segments.
I love the fact that they didt really mention time and cut the show to a hour like so many mainstream shows have done. I love the long couple hour rambling story shows and funny guest. Putting a time limit on a interview like these has a big negative effect I feel. The Fabian Alomar show is a good example I think they sounded like it was a legit hang with no cameras or mics at times. That’s the real deal stuff I search for like.
I understand that you have to preserve or “save” content or stories to a point and keep people wanting more and to come back and listen to more shows. I’m on 19 or 20 and they are starting to watch the timing a lot more but they still can go long and that’s cool.
I feel like listening to Thomas learn his timing, his keeping on track with one story, Marty’s past experience of successful production of big shows in the past, and just hearing them putting in the time it takes to get good at interviewing is cool to follow.
If Thomas and Marty keep this show like this and at this pace, we will all get to watch Thomas start at the very beginning and end up becoming a great great interviewer. I think it’s a easy goal to accomplish cause these guys have the hustle and the drive to stick it out in the early days and to get paid from doing what they enjoy.”
