Recently I decided to change careers and went back to being a full-time student. But I still want to give D.O.P.E. Talks attention and time to create good content for you. That’s why as my side hustle, D.O.P.E. Talks will be taking the shape of a “pop-up” podcast. This means there won't be an episode on a regular basis, but when the episode pops-up, it will be worth listening to. So Stay tuned for more to come and don't forget to hit that subscribe button to get notified about new content.

EP. 3 - Yasmeen Daher and Inna Michaeli: Talking Personal, Talking Politics.

EP. 3 - Yasmeen Daher and Inna Michaeli: Talking Personal, Talking Politics.

It has been a while since I recorded this episode, almost 8 weeks ago to be more precise. In between then and now, so much has happened in my world, and in yours too. So much has changed. But for Palestine not much has changed...a lot is going on, like the apartheid, the wall, the occupation, the segregation, the death, the oppression, the lack of safety, lack of peace and lack of freedoms, all freedoms. Yet not much has changed.

But although Morpheus once said “There are some things in this world, Captain Niobe, that will never change.”, he also said “Some things do change.” and in this episode, you will listen to Yasmeen Daher and Inna Michaeli, two change-makers, who are dedicating their time to making sure somethings won’t stay unchanged.

And although they are both activists, experts and writers of not only thought-provoking but also conscious provoking articles and pieces on politics, ethics, human rights and feminism….. In today's episode, they will give us more context about the Palestinian struggle for freedom not through their professional expertise but through sharing their personal experience as Jewish-Israeli and Palestinian women.

EP. 2 - Miko Peled: A Journey Through Apartheid & Colonisation towards Justice & Peace

EP. 2 - Miko Peled: A Journey Through Apartheid & Colonisation towards Justice & Peace

I promise you, today’s episode won’t be heavy nor loaded. Today’s episode is an authentic conversation between a Jewish-Israeli activist and a Palestinian woman. Today I talk with Miko Peled about his personal journey, about justice and about peace.

Miko Peled is a Jewish Israeli-American Author and Human Rights Activist.
He grew up in a very patriotic Israeli household and a prominent Zionist family. His grandfather signed Israel’s Declaration of Independence, his father served as an Israeli General in the Six-Day War of 1967 and Miko himself was in Israel’s Special Forces after high school. The death of his 13 years old niece in a suicide attack in Jerusalem led him to take a journey into Palestine. A journey that he says made him see the occupation, ethnic cleansing, genocide, and vicious apartheid regime Palestinians have been subjected to. And made him realize that he and his family played a role in this. Today, he travels the world to speak of a vision of a just peace with a single democracy with equal rights for all who live in historic Palestine.

For you my listeners and watchers, I added timestamps to both audio and video version with descriptive titles to jump between chapters, and I included helpful links of Miko Peled’s work as a speaker and an author as well as all other books, authors and historians he mentions this episode. So go ahead and dig in for more knowledge and awareness.

EP. 1 - Prof. Anna Svea Fischer: Gender Identity, Open Society & Identity Politics

EP. 1 - Prof. Anna Svea Fischer: Gender Identity, Open Society & Identity Politics

One of the topics keeping me up at night is the current discourse on Identity Politics. In today’s world we are confronted with both a progress towards inclusion and diversity as well as a resentment and a rage against it. To talk about this and get a new perspective I couldn't think of anyone better than my next guest.
For 20 Years she has been a professor for business administration, a trainer for diversity and inclusion, and a corporate consultant. Professora Anna Svea Fischer has been teaching as a woman only since December 2020. Today she tells us her personal story as a transwoman. We talk about diversity at the workplace and what steps employers need to take, in order to achieve an inclusive work environment. Then we go into politics and discuss the current issues and discourse around identity politics. Professora Anna then ends our talk with Sir Karl Popper’s idea of an “Open Society”, something she believes to be the answer for our current issues. On today’s D.O.P.E. Talk we get to walk a mile in Anna Svea’s shoes….
