What is the one habit that makes you successful? I asked Dr Sameer Dixit (Scientist & Director of Research at Center for Molecular Dynamics Nepal) this question in Episode 08 and answer is a powerful one: Challenge Everything. I included Dr Dixit's soundbite in this Quick Take episode, because I think it's such a great mindset to have. Transcript: Host: "What is the one habit that makes you successful?" Sameer: "I challenge everything. I challenge everything that I read. I challenge everything that I hear. I challenge everything that's in the news. I even challenge things I read in peer reviews, whether it's on nature or science. I challenge, not just to contradict what the authors are saying or the people are saying, but just to give me something to look at, some angles that people may have missed completely. And that seems to help me find new research topics and to find new avenues to look at the same issue from a different perspective altogether. As a scientist, you must challenge everything you get and everything you read, even if it comes in journals or nature or science or wherever you work, and I do that all the time." Host: "I love that!
