“Growing up as a kid in Chicago during the late 60s I was fortunate enough to be around when brands like Ludwig and Slingerland were at the forefront of the drumming industry. I’m the kid who stripped his entire Ludwig kit and packed the lugs with cotton so the springs wouldn’t buzz. Hearing stories from some of the industry’s top manufacturers and drum geeks is an absolute delight, and even though I’ve played DW drums for nearly 30 years I learned many insights and behind the scene stories from founder Don Lombardi that I’ve never heard before. Being a manufacturer of a drumstick company called SHAKERSTIX these industry pros have given me so much insight and encouragement to keep plugging along and producing the only egg shaker drumstick on the market.
