Paul Frederic Simon was born on October 13, 1941.He is a Singer-songwriter and an iconic figure in American rock music. As a singer-songwriter known for his cerebral composition, it is not a surprise that Simon's mother, Belle, was an English teacher and his father, Louis, was both a teacher and a bandleader. Paul Simon is also known for his work as part of the duo Simon & Garfunkel, and for his long-running success as a solo artist. In 1986, he released Graceland, an album inspired by South African township music, which sold 14 million copies worldwide and remains his most popular solo work. in 2006, Paul Simon was selected as one of the "100 People Who Shaped the World" by Time magazine.
