“I just listenEd to Russ’ interview with Stephen Kotkin about the legacy of Alexandr Solzhenitsyn. Of course, you can’t go wrong with Kotkin, so kudos to Russ for being able to recruit him for this interview. Kotkin, who is an expert on the life and time of Joseph Stalin, who Kotkin believes to be the most formidable historic figure of the last century, boldly stated that after Stalin, Solzhenitsyn was the second most formidable figure. Now forgive me if I didn’t get his words exactly right, but Wow! In any case I found the interview to be extremely well done, and as usual, Kotkin is always informative and insightful. I’m now subscribed.”
