The stories that need to be told
I’m listening to this for the first time today (yeah I’m a bit late...), and it’s made my day so much better. I’ve been incredible touched by the episodes I’ve listened to because it feels like... we don’t get to have this. Queer folks don’t get our stories told like this. When you’re little, you might hear all about love and finding oneself from your parents and mentors, but the queer experience is just... very different from anything cishet people live through. It’s so valuable to be able to listen to stories of real people that actually resonate with me. I’m actually tearing up. Thank you so much <3 <3 <3
thank you
thank you, thank you, thank you, to sophie and to all of their guests for putting this out to the world. it is so important to me as a young queer trans person to hear adults talking about being queer and trans, and to know that you get to go on, and to be a little messy, and a little complicated, and live life on the edges <3
Representation matters
In a show about love, I was so so grateful to hear from an aspec person! As an ace myself, I rarely ever get to see that aspect of my identity in media - let alone hear someone else process their relationship with romance and sexuality. I really resonated with Ryan’s discussion about wanting “a person” and it was just so good to hear these sometimes messy and hard to describe thoughts coming from another person!
This show is such a gift, and the work that Sophie’s doing to help more people hear more and different stories is truly wonderful!
