An adventure podcast for families!
An adventure podcast for families. (It can't hurt if NPR is in the air.) My daughter, wife, and I first listened to this last year when my daughter was 6. Fortunately, it was recommended to us after most of the episodes were out, because once any of us started listening we couldn't wait for the next episode. Now she's 7 and we are really enjoying the mini second season opening, and my son who is 4 also wanted to know where more episodes are? Bingeing is fun but patience is a virtue. This doesn't mean that there's anything lacking in the first, or any episode. Like any good pilot it is a microcosm of what is solid about the podcast: a very good story with clever writing, great voice and production work, characters that are simultaneously familiar and act in unexpected ways, and, of course, tropes that get twisted around on themselves. Each episode was easy for all of us to visualize and had us all laughing and hanging on to find out what was next. The best part about the series is how much we've been able to listen to it again. The episodes are enjoyable on their own and we all enjoy going on the ride with the characters. So just like any good story, you're happy to jump back in because everything doesn't hang on the twists and turns. It's the story, the details, and the fun that matters. I don't know why anyone who listens to a few episodes wouldn't want to subscribe. Barry is playing it cool at the end of the episodes, but everybody wants to know if they're liked or not. What are you waiting for? If either you have kids, you listen to way too much NPR, or like a good adventure. Eleanor Amplified is for you!Read full review »

My kids love this, but I may love it even more. The stories are exciting, with odd twists and turns, and subtle jokes for the adults. My whole family gets excited each time a new episode drops.
