Ep. 61: Genuinely. Organized. Badasses. (Tongan Castaways)

This week Jenna and Kelsey talk about the story of the Tongan Castaways, a group of 6 teenage boys who became shipwhrecked, stranded on a depopulated island, and survived all together for over a year and all survived! They overcame so much and overcame it together, taking care of each other and establishing an excellent camp on the island of 'Ata, for a total of 15 months! The boys were finally rescued by an Australian sailor and businessman Peter Warner on September 11, 1966. Their story went viral in 2020 are referred to as the "Real-Life "Lord of the Flies"", even though these 6 boys were a genuine example of humans surviving together who never turned on each other. We can all certainly learn a lot for them, but the survival tip this week is to look out for one another.
And as Sione says, "Shut up, cool down, sit down, listen."

Ep. 58: When One Resorts to Hermitism... (Christopher Knight)

We are headed out to the Jarsey! This week, Kelsey and Jenna discuss the legend of the North Pond Hermit, which is the true story of Christopher Knight. This very interesting story of a secluded man who lived in the woods of Maine for 27 years!! Chris would live alone in the wilderness for as long as he chose to out there, never seeing anyone and never letting himself be seen. He was finally caught in 2013 stealing food from a local camp, like he'd done for almost 3 decades. He learned how to truely survive during unforgiving winters, lifting supplies where he could, and living a peaceful life in the meantime.
Please remember to be safe out there!

My favorite kind of pod

Can’t get enough survival stories, please make more soon! We miss you!

Update: almost two years of radio silence. Way to just leave your audience hanging. I’ll change my review back to 5 stars if you start making episodes again.

Get ON with it!

Started an episode, but gave up after FOURTEEN MINUTES of random blather and giggling, with no story in sight.
