Ice Queen
I really enjoyed Eric Wolf's passionate reading of the Ice Queen. The story also had that delightful, steady suspense fairy tales have-- will the protagonist (the daughter "Snow") be victorious or not? The ending with Snow's tears combining with the diamond and leading to lush, natural growth was poetic justice for me indeed! I also thought of how many women in western culture strive to preserve their youthful appearance in some desperate ways (botox, plastic surgeries, etc.) and I frequently thought of them as "stone facades" as I listened. If they could but embrace nature and her cycles of change.
Also, another review was concerned with a short 3 minute, interrupted feature. That didn't happen for me with my computer-- it lasted about 16 minutes. But it did need to re-buffer a couple of times, the last time I had to stop the re-buffering and re-start the story.
