Feels a bit naive
This podcast sometimes feels like a student project. First of all, who hasn’t heard of Hillsong? The presenter sounds like he’s never heard the name and wants to present them in a balanced way - but that’s clearly not happening here. Secondly, there are segments that just come across as unprofessional and unnecessary - such as the episode in the park where Stephen is trying to find a quiet interview space. There was no need for it, it’s just uninteresting waffle. Same with the ‘scene’ with Andrea at the office, where Stephen says he’s spoken to everyone on the list apart from one person, and Andrea says “so call them”. It’s just completely unnecessary and a bit laughable. Stephen also talks too fast at times so that certain words aren’t audible. The topic of Hillsong is interesting but this podcast could have done with more polishing.

Really impressed with the journalist’s sensitive and trauma-informed approach to interviewing vulnerable and exploited people. Amazing investigative work too!
