“The story is fascinating but this podcast is cringeworthy to listen to. It’s an exercise in self-discipline for me to get through each episode because of the very distracting lame fictional dialogue that peppers the actual reporting. It makes the production feel very cheap and I feel it compromises the integrity of the journalism. It sounds more like a particularly bad Lifetime movie about superficial high school drama turned into a podcast, if that makes any sense. I feel like it makes more a mockery of the story than anything else, which is a shame because it’s actually quite interesting. I found myself googling articles to read instead.”
