Sweeping yet incisive. Intoxicating. I can’t get enough of Paul’s story-telling cadence and approach to human history. I especially love the interludes about geological time, source material check-ins and humane details. Did I mention NO COMMERCIALS!? I’ve laughed, ugly cried (Easter Island & The Aztecs) and stayed up to the wee hours to hear how the story ends. I only wish there were new episodes more often, but quality research and production takes time and consideration. Thank you, this is the best podcast I’ve encountered.

It is a great podcast and the presentation of the grand sweep of a civilization towards the end is really well done! I did enjoy the Sumerian episode.
